Ezgi Atar – 2nd Translation Village Event

Ezgi Atar

Ezgi Atar

Ezgi was graduated from Boğaziçi University, Translation Studies department and took part in the activities of Boğaziçi University Translation Club (BÜÇEV) and The Union of Translation Students (TÜÇEB). She stepped into the world of translation as an intern in SDL Turkey office and has been in the field of translation for nearly five years. While experienced in many fields, she’s now dedicating the majority of her time on Marketing and IT texts.

Taking part in the translation, copy-editing, proofreading, post-editing, quality assessment and other steps of projects, Ezgi works with major LSPs and MLVs in the world. In particular, she produces “creative translations” for clients dedicating significant budgets to localization. She’s also responsible for the overall quality of Turkish translations produced for one of the major clients. In this respect, she regularly provides feedback to translators.

She dives into deep contemplation on the conflicts of urban life in Kadıköy, which her generation considers homeland. Far from her dream of opening a petite café in Kadıköy, she’s making plans to reconcile with the nature.

Also interested in literary translation, the stories that Ezgi translated were published in prominent literary journals such as Varlık. Another of her stories will be published in the February-March 2018 issue of Notos Journal.
